Northwest Eclectic

Goals: Transform an outdated and disfunctional 70’s kitchen into a beautiful, workable, well-lit kitchen.

Where there once was chaos, there now is beauty! Adequate cabinet space with state of the art organizational hardware inside make this a dream workspace. The floor area of the kitchen became smaller with the addition of a walk-in pantry, but the formerly cavernous space now has distinct work zones: clean up at the island, prep by the window, eating at the new counter-height table, and dish storage in the china cabinet. 3" concrete countertops have “rivers” of rocks placed artistically throughout.

Natural light floods the room through the china cabinet, as well as the door and window. The elevated dishwasher is just opposite the china cabinet to make unloading the dishwasher a simple task.

The clean up center of the kitchen has a recycling cabinet, as well as a swing out garbage below the sink, next to the elevated dishwasher. The single basin sink has an instant hot water spigot.

The “work center” of the kitchen provides ample prep space with a separate sink, and dimmable under cabinet lighting. The soft green concrete countertops harmonize with the ceramic tile backsplash, and inset decorative metal tiles at the stove. The cherry cabinets are set off by the bamboo floor.
